Johnny
Charcoal and acrylic on canvas board 18x24

Saturday, January 05, 2013

After creating this logo for a client thought it would be fun to produce a video tag for it.  Unfortunately because of the nature of the business there was no practical use for it.  But here it is for fun and fuel for thought.
Thought it was interesting trying out Logobids contest for the Agape Family worship Center.  Submitted these on December 12, 2012 for consideration.  But since checking back it looks like the whole contest was pulled along with my samples...very strange.  But for the record these were my attempts at conveying the Agape message.

Hot Rod Fan

What to get for the little brother who already has everything?  How about a painting of his sweetheart, the big block engine in his classic truck  ;).  Acrylic on hand stretched canvas 20"x24".  Shhhhh...it's a suprise!

Did you hear that?

The Shout

Small self portrait on  paper  2"x3" gouache.   Eventually every artist comes back to the self for some study; he or she is the most cooperative model you'll ever work with.  This was fast and fun, working with a limited palette I mixed the main skin tone and I did the tinting and shading on the fly.

"SYNTH" is a mix media piece that I think best represents my appreciation of the beauty of the natural, and of artificiality. Imagine the sight of butterflies fluttering around at night aloft on neon wings. Now available as a wall decal or poster - click picture to see.

sensual undertones. I definitely had to put it on a shirt. Click to see more.
